PTSD support

A free PTSD app for veterans — anonymous, no insurance, no waitlist.

Valor is built for the slow grind: the sleep you don't get, the startle that doesn't fade, the weeks where you're fine and the weeks where you aren't. Short daily check-ins, a small peer squad that gets it, grounding drills for the bad moments, and 988 one tap away.

What PTSD actually looks like

Most apps treat PTSD like a one-time event. It isn't. It's hypervigilance at a Target on a Tuesday. It's waking up at 0247 and not knowing why. It's a smell, a sound, a corner of a parking lot. It's moral weight a civilian therapist doesn't have a framework for. Valor isn't trying to fix you in 30 days — it's trying to make sure the bad weeks don't compound in silence.

What's in the app

30-second morning check-in

Sleep, pain, mood, intrusive thoughts. Trended over weeks so the slope shows up before the crisis does.

Grounding drills

Box breathing, 5-4-3-2-1 senses, cold-water vagal reset, progressive muscle relaxation. Three minutes, no audio.

A squad of 6–8

Matched by branch and era. Small enough to know each other, big enough that someone's awake at 0300.

AI battle buddy

Reads the trend, not just the moment. Nudges you before a bad week becomes a bad month. Always offers a human handoff.

Sleep + nightmare tracking

Log nightmares without writing them out. Patterns surface for you, your battle buddy, or your clinician — your call.

One-tap crisis

988 + press 1 to the Veterans Crisis Line. SMS option. Grounding drill if you need to land first. On every screen.

Common questions

Do I need a PTSD diagnosis to use this?

No. No diagnosis, no rating, no paperwork. If you served post-9/11, you're in.

Is Valor a replacement for therapy?

No. It's a companion. It tracks patterns, gets you a peer, grounds you in a moment, and points you to VA care, Community Care, and Vet Centers when you want a human clinician.

Will my command or the VA see my check-ins?

No. Independent app, anonymous by default, no data sharing with VA, DoD, or any command.

What if I have a flashback or panic right now?

Open the grounding drills tab or hit the Crisis button at the top of any screen. Open the crisis page.

Does it work for OEF/OIF, Syria, Afghanistan withdrawal, anywhere else?

Yes. Every post-9/11 theater, every MOS, deployed or not. Service is service.

Ready when you are

90 seconds to sign up. Pick a call sign, pick branch and era, take your first check-in. No credit card, no email loop, no waitlist.

If you're in immediate danger, call 988 and press 1, or text 838255. Valor is not a replacement for emergency services.
